Event description

Description

Join us at CRWA's 52nd Annual Meeting to hear from our inspiring keynote speaker Alexie Torres-Fleming, renowned activist for environmental justice. The Annual Meeting serves as an opportunity to recognize the contributions of environmental activists and volunteers whose dedicated work helps protect the Charles River. The dinner begins with a business meeting to elect members of the board of directors. And if you just need a break, the cocktail reception (with cash bar) is a great opportunity to unwind and catch up with friends and colleagues.

Keynote Address

From the Bronx River to the Charles: Empowered Communities, Resilient Rivers

In her keynote address, Alexie Torres-Fleming, renowned grassroots community organizer, will explore issues of environmental and social justice through her own experience. Drawing from community organizing work in the Bronx River neighborhoods, Torres-Fleming will demonstrate the power a community has in shaping its own environmental destiny. She will help frame CRWA’s work in climate resilience through the lens of community empowerment.
