UPDATE #2: Per my email, I need volunteers to help sign people in with name tags and to meet / greet folks! This is a great way to meet people, and help kick start a friendly vibe to the event. I need volunteers to fill 30 minute slots (which goes by very fast) on the hour. If you can help, please send me a “message” (go to my Meetup profile, and click “Message”) letting me know which top three time slots you prefer, in order of preference (do not post a comment on the event posting)!
UPDATE #1: Looks like this will be a good one! Tell a friend, come on out, meet new people, and help support a good cause! And again, I encourage everyone to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE!
Okay, time to get together for our final happy hour of the year!
Our happy hour will benefit The Nature Conservancy, a leading conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people... requested $5 or $10 cash donation (but not required).www.nature.org Please note 80% of donations go to The Nature Conservancy and 20% of donations will go to the 20s & 30s Going Out Group to cover Meetup fees and expenses.
DJ Saam will be spinning beats for us. Our happy hours typically bring out 150 - 200 folks... and I wouldn't be surprised with a similar turnout this time around (Note: I've been getting this question a lot lately, but please know our 20s & 30s Going Out Group's RSVP numbers are not inflated due to signups from a previous "rotating" or "recurring" event).
If you haven't been there before, Rosebar offers a sophisticated retro-chic feel with a sleek lounge atmosphere! 21+
To help continue the friendly tone of this group, I'd like to again encourage each person to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE at this event. To help do this, for an icebreaker, we'll put your name in a jar as you walk in, and then give you someone else's name from the jar. Also, 20s & 30s Rockstars, please help make all the newcomers feel welcome to our group!
Metro and Parking
Closest Metro is Dupont Circle - South exit (Red line) and Farragut West (Orange, Blue, Silver lines). I suggest Metro / cabbing / Ubering it (especially during rush hour). I also recommend using wmata.com for travel plans. Don't forget to account for Metro, traffic, and parking delays. If you are driving, you will need to find street parking or a garage. I recommend using parkopedia.com for garage parking planning.
Most people will be coming from work, so business casual will be the norm.
If you have any special needs (e.g. wheelchair, dietary for events with food included, etc.), let us know in advance (a week or more before the event) and we will do our best to accommodate (message me through my Meetup profile). If you let us know the day of the event, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to help. Thank you for understanding and we appreciate the courtesy of a heads up!
When & Where
20s & 30s Going Out Group
We are the ORIGINAL Going Out and 20s & 30s group, and the 2nd largest Meetup group in the world! This social group is for people mostly their 20s and 30s, in the Washington DC metro area, who enjoy dancing, dining, pubs, clubs, outdoor activities, road trips, dinner parties, and other local activities.
This group is for married people, single people, new-in-towners, and people who have been in the DC area for a while and are simply looking for a new group to go out with. Membership is FREE, and you only have to be friendly and fun to join!
We host a regular-occurring happy hour where we raise money for various local charities (all voluntary donations).
