The second event in our charity series is an evening of taste bud tantalising and mouth watering vegan deliciousness to help raise funds for the London Basket Brigade.
Theme: Autumn Harvest
Chef: Suth Suntaramoorthy & Shyam Kotecha of Cafe Amrutha
What is the Basket Brigade?
Imagine this scenario: It’s nearing Christmas time, you recently lost your job, and you’ve spent your last bit of savings on buying one Christmas present for each of your two children. The result is that you now only have a few quid left to buy some basics at the shop – food that will last you only a few days until the local Food Bank is open again. What you do have definitely won’t allow you to have a nice Christmas dinner as you have in the past.
You’re devastated and feel totally demoralised.
Then, on December 23rd, your doorbell rings. You open it to find a stranger with a hamper full of food – food that will allow you to have your Christmas dinner. You’re overwhelmed with emotion, thank the stranger, close the door and read the card inside the hamper…
“This comes to you from someone who cares. All we ask is that you take care of yourself so you can do the same for others in the future. Love, From a Friend.”
You break down and cry tears of gratitude…
…this is exactly what the London Basket Brigade is about…giving to others at one of the most important, yet also stressful times of their life…and the year!
The Basket Brigade Team work hard throughout the year to raise the money to make this one day event of selfless giving and pleasant surprises a reality. It costs approximately £10 to provide a family of four with a full Christmas meal. The Basket Brigade Team have a goal of feeding 1,000 families plus 100 homeless people this Christmas. This means they need to raise £15,000 this year so they can feed more than 4,000 people this Christmas.
Here at Bespoken Supper Club, we are delighted to be helping them reach that target by supporting this incredible cause.
So, what’s the price for this amazing event? £35 (plus a minimum donation of £15)
Just £35 (+min donation) for an evening of delicious food, spent with like-minded people and entertained by one of the greatest performance poets around. You’ll even be feeding at least 2.5 families this Christmas, just by you having a night out!
Only 26 tickets are available for this event, so please book as soon as possible.
