More about Food Lifeline...
Working with the food industry and its surpluses, Food Lifeline has come up with creative solutions to stopping hunger, including redirecting good food from manufacturers, farmers, grocery stores and restaurants that might otherwise go to waste. They provide 91,000 meals a day to local food assistance programs, and that, combined with their policy work, creates a sustainable approach to stopping hunger.
Founded in 1979, Food Lifeline is led by a board of directors that represents our community and the food industry. Food Lifeline employs a staff of around 70 people, from truck drivers to food industry specialists, who all bring a passion to stopping hunger to their work.
Food Lifeline is a proud member of the Feeding America network. This relationship allows them to bring hunger-stopping best practices, relationships with national food brands and food surpluses from sister agencies back to Western Washington.
