Want a place to take the children to get creative in the school holidays? Come along to our Wildlife Weekend on 16th and 17th August at Brook Way Activity Centre.

Featuring drop-in free talks, games, and workshops run by One Planet Matters and environmental educator Sara Messenger.

Designed for children aged 3–14 as well as adults, the weekend will include activities focused on bug habitats, wildlife gardening, and why insects matter so much to our ecosystem.

Interactive Pollenating flowers game 4+

Make a shoe box dream garden for ages 6+

A storytelling space where people can write or record (video booth or postcards) why they care about nature, bugs, or how they use their gardens

What age range is suitable for this workshop?

We recommend ages 3+. You must have a guardian or parent attend with you if you are below the age of 18.

Is the event free?

Yes, all workshops run by the council are free of charge

Do I have to pre-book to attend?

No, but it is useful for us to be able to gage numbers so we have enough materials.
