Description

"Charged Particles dazzle."
- Downbeat Magazine

"An electrifying, push-the-limits performance style... A tight and enormously talented trio."
-Jazz Times Magazine

One of the true superstars of jazz these days is band-leader, composer, and pianist Chick Corea. At age 77, he has won 22 GRAMMY awards for his recordings, was elected to the DownBeat Hall of Fame, and was named a Jazz Master by the National Endowment for the Arts. During more than 5 decades of music-making, Corea has been a prolific composer. This performance, by tenor saxophonist Tod Dickow with the local favorite trio Charged Particles and an expanded ensemble, will feature some of Corea’s greatest compositions that are rarely heard live. Don’t miss this one!

Tod Dickow is an outstanding saxophone soloist and has appeared with numerous celebrated artists, including Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson, Jackie & Roy, Harry Connick Jr, Steve Allen, Terry Gibbs, Frank Sinatra Jr., Dave Brubeck, and many more.

Jon Krosnick's playing reflects his primary influences on the drums: Peter Erskine, Dave Weckl, and Steve Gadd. His drumming style blends incredible technique and a sensitivity to his fellow players with an explosive energy that propels the trio to electrifying velocities. Jon performed with Chick Corea in Lenox, Massachusetts, in 2012.

Murray Low is a veteran pianist of the Bay Area jazz scene. Murray is best known for his contributions to Latin Jazz, Salsa and Afro-Cuban musical landscape. In his twenty-two years of involvement he has established himself as one of the premier pianists in that genre, being nominated as 2008 Pianist of the Year by the Latin Jazz Corner and for a Grammy in 2004 as part of Machete Ensemble.

Aaron Germain (bass) has performed at the Blue Note (NYC), Scullers (Boston), The House of Blues (Boston), Blues Alley (Washington DC), Zanzibar Blue (Philadelphia), Yoshi's (SF), Yoshi's (Oakland), The Jazz School (Berkeley), Humphrey's by the Bay (San Diego), The Fillmore (SF), Dakotas (Minneapolis), The Iron Horse (Northampton), Herbst Theatre (SF), Kuumbwa (Santa Cruz), Le Club Jazz (Kyoto), Cafe Yorozuya (Kobe), Z Imagine (Tokyo), Donfan (Tokyo), MEG (Tokyo), Bar T.T. Funk (Tokyo), The San Francisco Jazz Festival, The North Beach Jazz Festival, The Fillmore Jazz Festival, The San Jose Jazz Festival, and the Drumming in the New Millennium Festival in front of the Great Pyramids of Egypt.

We'll pour tastes of our wines, and we invite you to bring a picnic. Wine will also be available for purchase by the bottle.

The concert begins at 6pm. We’re open from 5:00 to 8:00. Picnic tables are not available; feel free to bring a blanket to spread on the ground, or beach chairs. Please consider carpooling or bicycling, as parking is very limited.
