Description
We have amazing speakers lined up for November 16th and 17th, 2019. We will be joined by Luc Travers, who will expose us to some great ways to further appreciate art and music, Duncan Scott, who will share the background of saving the film "We the Living" based on Ayn Rand's book by the same name, and Marsha Enright, who is an expert leader of discussions on Great Books and other philosophical topics. Please contact Cynthia Roeth at cynthia@occamsrazor.net if you have any questions or require hotel reccomendations.
The requested attendance fee donation for this conference is $75.00 each (only $35.00 each if you are a speaker) which will incude light lunches (sandwiches and salads) on Saturday and Sunday. Students attend free ($15.00 donation suggested for a meal). There will also be evenings of fun to include potlucks, guitar, karaoke, party games, fire pit, and spa. Speakers will present at the Charlotte Uptown Library on Saturday 11/16 from 9 AM-4:15 PM followed by a group visit (admission not included) to the Mint Museum until 6 PM followed by viewing the film: "We The Living" at the Roeth home. Sunday will include breakfast starting at 8:30 AM and then speakers at the Roeth home from 9:30 AM until 4:15 PM, followed by some optional activities. This mini-conference will be a lovely way to connect and reconnect with kindred souls who share a love of the ideas of Ayn Rand and the aesthetic along with other values.

About the organizer
Cynthia Roeth is the Charcon organizer and has been married to Neil Roeth for the past 29 years. They have lived in Charlotte for the past seventeen years while raising their two children, AJ (24) and Liam (21). They have each been students of the works of Aristotle, Ayn Rand, and other great thinkers, writers, and artists, for the past few decades. Together, the Roeths have explored important ideas that these great thinkers have offered us all, and love to get together with others who share these values to continue to learn and grow. Together they form Roeth Educational Services, LLC, which sponsors Charcon. They also tutor young people (typically high school age) in creative essay writing and high level math and science. In addition, Cynthia and Neil have recently formed a rock band called the 59ers, which now boasts two full sets of well rehearsed music that they like to share.
