Description

Moving4ward Productions has teamed up with John Wesley United Methodist Church to present a FREE musical show on Saturday, February 23, 2019 to celebrate African-American history.

Meet the NYC 6: Jill, the sassy “cheerleader”, Kevin, the football “star”, Stephanie, the “brain”, Michael, “the artist”, Alyssa, “the outcast”, and Paige, “the diva.” 6 colorful, but unruly Bronx teenagers find themselves stuck in another world, but with the guidance of 3 African-American Legends; they eventually find their way home.

This show is a short excerpt from its predecessor The African-American Experience: A Walk Through Time written & directed by Alan R.H. Nettles which premiered opening night to rave reviews.

The event will take place at John Wesley United Methodist Church in South Nashville from 5:00pm-6:30pm with a soul food dinner to follow. The program features critically acclaimed, Gospel Billboard artist, Shanae Edwards, Essence Festival winner, Megan Broadnax, and a host of local, indie artists and performers.
