Event Details

The Channel Islands Information Security Forum (CIISF) are giving business leaders and security professionals an opportunity to address the cyber security agenda with security experts at a conference to be held on 21st September 2017 at the Royal Yacht Hotel in St Helier, Jersey.

The key note speaker will be Mustafa Al-Bassam, alias Tflow, is a former black hat hacker who was one of the six core members of LulzSec during its 50-day spree of attacks in the spring of 2011. At the time of the so-called "50 Days of Lulz", Al-Bassam was 16 years old and living as a student in London. He was also one of the affiliates of the online association of "hacktivists" known as Anonymous. Mustafa also managed the website during its short run in June 2011. He is currently an information security adviser and pursuing a PhD in Computer Science.  His thesis is to move forward the state of the art in securely building blockchains and distributed high-integrity ledgers, both to support financial transactions and to strengthen existing security mechanisms such as public key certificates.

Mustafa will be giving an insight into operations of LulzSec at that point in time and how businesses can look at protecting themselves from new incoming threats.

The conference programme is outlined below.

The CIISF exists to promote understanding of information security, cyber security and privacy, and work towards a global centre of excellence in the islands.
