Event description

Description

How do we leverage young learners’ innate sense of fairness to explore and develop mathematical concepts? What is needed to expand upon the common experiences that children’s literature can provide, in order to build social justice foundations? In this workshop, participants will explore how to support their students in developing mathematics as a language of comprehension and description, rooted in a context of equity.

Participants will:

  • Develop a framework to connect Social Justice and mathematical language & concepts
  • Design a lesson aligned to mathematical and socio-emotional standards
  • Network with colleagues to build a library of resources and ideas

Cost: $75/person

Register by Friday, October 20
