Event description
This 4-part course, led by tutor Simon Renton, charts the basics of Marxism, the development of the workers' movement and the role of the CP

About this Event

Please note - one ticket covers all four sessions.

Do you want to know more about Marxism and its relevance to Britain? Are you concerned at poverty, austerity, precarious working, universal credit and Brexit? What will this Government do next and what can you do to defeat its plans? How have the Marxists helped to organise the fightback, these last hundred years?

This four part course (parts one and four are at Ruskin House, parts two & three are at Marx Library, Clerkenwell) will give you a understanding of Marxism and how it serves as a guide to action. You do not need prior knowledge, just a wish to change the world!

Popular tutor Simon Renton and his team, will lead the course, but you will soon want to take an active part too. There will be films and a new course workbook along with an opportunity to meet young party activists who will outline a fascinating account of our 100 years of struggle for socialism. You are welcome to enrol, with friends, workmates and other activists.

Simon Renton is a tutor on courses run by the communist party. He has been a party militant for many years and worked variously as a bus driver and lecturer. In 2014 Simon was elected President of the University and College Lecturer's Union, UCU.
