Champions of Equality 2014
Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (EDT)
As you may have heard, SAVE and the ACLU of Florida have announced the filing of a groundbreaking lawsuit on behalf of eight married couples to secure recognition from the state of Florida for same-sex marriages performed out-of-state.
A pro-equality ruling would grant gay couples married in states that perform same-sex marriages access to many rights and benefits that Florida grants to opposite-sex married couples, such as Social Security survivor benefits and the right to include your spouse on your health insurance policy.
It's our pleasure to invite you to SAVE's annual Champions of Equality awards reception and gala, where we will honor the eight brave couples taking a stand for equality in court:
Sloan Grimsley & Joyce Albu
Bob Collier & Chuck Hunziker
Lindsay Myers & Sarah Humlie
Robert Loupo & John Fitzgerald
Richard Milstein & Eric Hankin
Denise Hueso & Sandra Newson
Christian Ulvert & Carlos Andrade
Juan del Hierro & Thomas Gantt, Jr.
SAVE is also proud to honor State Representative David Richardson, County Commissioner Audrey Edmonson, and filmmaker Joe Cardona.
We hope you will join us in honoring these trailblazers on May 9th. Buy your tickets today!
