Cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in the US, and brain tumors are the leading cause of death from childhood cancers. Due to focused efforts, survival rates for other forms of pediatric cancer, like leukemia, have been climbing, but not for pediatric brain cancer. Now there is hope!
Due to advancements in neurosurgical techniques and acquisition of tumor tissue for research, and through funding from foundations like ours, there are numerous clinical trials taking place at major medical centers across the US and in other countries that are finally showing promise. We are proud to support this work around the country.
Locally, we are excited to support UM’s initiative to become a national center of excellence for pediatric brain cancer within five years, which will enable breakthrough results in the effort to find treatments and eventually a cure. Half of the net proceeds from the gala will be donated to The University of Michigan Pediatric Brain Cancer Research Initiative.
Join us for a special evening that will include great food, an incredible auction, and an engaging program that will remind us that every child deserves to survive cancer! Join the fight! Help us find a cure!
