Six concerts done, and October marks the seventh concert of the Church of Beethoven-Tucson series! Dazzling the Maker House Corona Room stage will the be the Tucson Repertory Orchestra Wind Quintet and local Tucson poet, Leigh D.C. Spencer. That's FIVE musicians, our biggest group yet, made up of flutist Mindi Acosta, oboist Christian Hill, clarinetist Wes Sansom, bassoonist Cassandra Bendickson, and hornist Eric Holm. Especially for this concert, we've asked composer Chris Black (ChamberLab, Two-Door Hatchback, etc) to write a special piece to premiere alongside the works of other greats, such as Astor Piazzolla, Paquito D'Rivera, Bach, Beethoven, Quincy Jones (yes, that's right.. Quincy Jones!), and more. Local poet, Leigh Spencer, will read her own original works from her recently published collections, "Tequila and Cookies" and "She Too: Four Voices in almost Harmony".
Maker House is the venue, complete with teas, coffees, wines, sodas, beers, and snacks, which you are free to enjoy alongside the killer acoustics of the Corona Room. Buy a beer, see a concert, and save the world a little at a time!
Tickets in advance are $10 general admission, $8 for students and veterans ($12 and $9 at the door).
