Dr. Sinclair will be presenting information on ways to talk to your teens about the hard topics we sometimes wish we could avoid. Based on what we have learned from research and her experiences working with teens, Dr. Sinclair will provide basic strategies to approach the conversations that are awkward or uncomfortable, but also crucially important. She will touch on a number of topics, including mental health, sex and drugs – to help make it almost as easy as talking about Rock and Roll!
This psychoeducation session is open to any community member on Salt Spring and is brought to you by the Salt Spring Island Local Action Team as part of the Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use (CYMHSU) Collaborative, funded in partnership by Doctors of BC and the BC government.
This event will also launch the Child & Youth Mental Health and Substance Use (Salt Spring Island Local Action Team)'s Suicide Intervention Toolkits available for free for Youth and Adults.
Goodies and beverages will be provided at the event. Child minding is available (based on your reservation via Eventbrite).
All adults are welcome!
