The Event

The CDT in Energy Storage & its Applications invites you to an external seminar at the University of Sheffield, delivered by Dr Alex Buckman. The future of our energy system will be discussed, including the role of renewable energy sources, energy storage and flexibility towards achieving a sustainable future and developing a carbon-free economy. No previous knowledge is required, all students are welcome to attend the event and ask their questions. Tea & Coffee will follow right after the seminar to give you the opportunity to discuss with the speaker and other attendees.

Schedule

About the speaker

Dr Alex Buckman is the Practice Manager for Infrastructure and Energy Storage within the Energy Systems Catapult. He is leading the technical delivery of two projects to the Energy Technologies Institute: the Storage and Flexibility Modelling project and the Transitions Analysis project. He joined the ESC from the ETI in 2017, where he also led the technical delivery of the Heat Infrastructure Development project. Alex has a PhD and MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield
