Event description

Description

More than ever before, successful companies are seeking ways to improve their businesses by engaging customers, employees and communities through responsible business initiatives.

Four events will be held during the first half of 2017 to share best practice on a number of topics including gender pay gap reporting, purpose-driven brands and apprenticeships.

The events are aimed at business leaders from across the county. Light refreshments will be provided at each event.

The events are as follows:

Gender pay gap reporting –
17th January 2017, 18:00 – 20:00

The gender pay gap currently stands at 19.2% in the UK. Organisations with more than 250 employees will soon be required to publish their gender pay data. Now is the time to start preparing. This workshop will provide guidance for businesses on how to find out if you have a gender pay gap, identify its driving factors and take action to tackle it.

Purpose-driven brands –
7th February 2017, 18:00 – 20:00

Customer needs and expectations are changing rapidly, requiring innovative business models built on customer engagement, integrity and transparency. This workshop will provide inspirational insights from business, and discuss practical tools and guidance, enabling Marketing, Commercial Strategy and Corporate Responsibility leaders to work together to drive customer engagement, social impact and commercial advantage.

FutureProof and Apprenticeships –
7th March 2017, 18:00 – 20:00

The Future Proof campaign helps businesses break down the barriers in their recruitment processes and create quality accessible jobs for all young people. This workshop will help businesses maximise the opportunities arising from the apprenticeship levy, and review their own internal processes to make job criteria more youth friendly, looking at the skills and attitudes they need, rather than focusing so heavily on previous experience.

Oxfordshire’s Initiatives: sharing best practice –
25th April 2017, 18:00 – 20:00

Across the county leading companies are working with charities and a public sector organisations to make a difference in our community. As part of Responsible Business Week, this special event will provide a forum for recognising some of the achievements of Oxfordshire businesses, sharing instead the good practice that has been developed.
