CEWA Primary Digital Technologies Workshop

This workshop will present some exemplary case studies and practices from within CEWA, while sharing new resources developed specifically to support the new Digital Technologies curriculum. Teachers will be given access to a wide range of practical activities and resources to support the scope, sequence and teaching at their school.

• Date: Thursday, November 23rd

• Venue: Ursula Frayne Primary School, Early Learning Centre, Balmoral Street, East Victoria Park.

• Cost: This workshop is free to attend

• Parking: Free parking provided

• Accreditation: Teachers will receive a certificate for attendance

Each of the three lead teachers presenting will cover ways they have prepared and tested the Digital Technologies curriculum in 2017, while developing students capacity for systems, design and computational thinking. A particular focus will be given to the new years K-6 curriculum, focusing on defining and decomposing real-world problems, designing algorithms and implementing programs.

Draft Agenda for the workshop:
• 3:00pm to 3:15pm - meet and greet
• 3:15pm to 3:45pm - Overview of WA Curriculum, CEWA resources and network to support new Digital Technologies curriculum
• 3:45pm to 4:45pm - 3 short 20 minute rotating rapid share sessions by 3 exemplary teachers presenting
• 4:45pm to 5:15pm - closing and networking
