Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
Excella Training’s Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) course is a two-day, interactive learning experience that focuses on the role of the product owner.
What You’ll Learn
This course starts with an overview of the Agile and Scrum frameworks. From there, the curriculum includes:
- Understanding the role of the Product Owner
- Understanding customers and users
- Testing product assumptions
- Working with the Product Backlog
Who Should Attend
The class is great for current Scrum Product Owners, business analysts, ScrumMasters, testers, or anyone involved with creating requirements, gathering needs, and managing products.
Note: The CSPO course assumes that attendees already have a basic understanding of Scrum via our Agile and Scrum in a Day course, Certified ScrumMaster course, or equivalent Scrum experience.
Certification
Upon completion of the course, students will be credentialed as Certified Scrum Product Owners. Additionally, This course also allows students to claim 14 Project Management Institute (PMI)® Professional Development Units (PDUs)* as well as 16 Scrum Alliance Scrum Education Units (SEUs).

Location
The class will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Attune (formerly MicroTek) Washington, DC Training Center at 1110 Vermont Avenue, NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005. Attune DC is conveniently located two blocks north of the Vermont Avenue exit of the McPherson Square Metro station on the Orange/Blue/Silver lines.
About Your Trainer
Dr. Patrick McConnell is an Agile Coach and Certified Scrum Trainer at Excella Training, specializing in Agile Transformation in the Public Sector and Scaling Agile Frameworks. A criminologist by training, Patrick transitioned from developing geospatial applications in Agile Teams to coaching and training Agile methods and frameworks. He has served as an Agile Coach and Trainer for over 50 US Government organizations, as well as the States of Alabama, Maryland, and New York.
Cancellation Policy
Students submitting cancellation requests 10 business days or more prior to the start of the course are entitled to a full refund. Students submitting cancellation requests less than 10 business days prior to the start of the course will be offered a credit toward a future Excella Training course of equivalent value, or a refund less a processing fee of $100. Should the organizer cancel the course for any reason, each registered student will be issued a full refund.
