Event Details

Take the lead as a financial manager at your nonprofit, and become a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional.

The nationally-recognized CNAP ("see-nap") designation certifies the expertise and commitment of nonprofit financial managers and accounting professionals.

Our training program ensures that those on the fiscal management frontlines have the confidence and skills they need to make the most of your financial resources. So you can continue the critical work of making the world a better place.

Participants learn best practices on vital skills and topics specific to nonprofit organizations. And attendees can immediately apply their new knowledge to benefit their organizations right away.

Topics covered include:

  • Financial reporting
  • Internal controls
  • Budget development
  • Governance
  • Form 990

Train when and where you want. Financial professionals can earn a CNAP designation by training in person during one of our three-day programs held in New York, Miami, or the San Francisco Bay Area. Or by enrolling in an online course delivered on the web during seven weekly two-hour sessions.

The course fee includes 3 days of in-person training with meals, all course materials, certification exam and certification fee.

For information on group discounts contact Andrew Schwalm at or 212-931-9112.

CPE CREDIT: For professionals completing CNAP In-person, FMA is authorized to offer 19.5 CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credits through the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. Attendees must attend all sessions to receive credit.

"Supporting a sound financial infrastructure for grant recipients has long been a priority for Robin Hood. CNAP is the first training program to set national standards for accounting knowledge for nonprofit fiscal personnel. The certification is accessible to staff at many levels of an agency." - Michael J. Park, Director Management Assistance, The Robin Hood Foundation
