What is a CMQ/OE:
“The Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence is a professional who leads and champions process-improvement initiatives—everywhere from small businesses to multinational corporations—that can have regional or global focus in a variety of service and industrial settings.
A Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence facilitates and leads team efforts to establish and monitor customer/supplier relations, supports strategic planning and deployment initiatives, and helps develop measurement systems to determine organizational improvement.
The Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence should be able to motivate and evaluate staff, manage projects and human resources, analyze financial situations, determine and evaluate risk and employ knowledge management tools and techniques in resolving organizational challenges”. This Prep/Refresher Course is designed to prepare participants to take the ASQ Exam running from March 3rd - 19th , 2017.
The course will follow the Body of Knowledge for the CMQ/OE:
- Strategic Plan Development and Deployment
- Management Skills and Abilities
- Quality Management Tools
- Customer-Focused Organizations
- Supply Chain Management
- Training and Development
- Preparation of Essays
All course materials are included within the course fee. Each registrant will receive a hard copy of the Quality Council of Indiana’s CMQ Primer along and CMQ Exam CD

Please note that registration should be submitted two weeks prior to the course start date or late fees may be imposed.
Course Cancellation: We recognize that issues may arise that will affect a student's ability to attend a course. However, because of facility, instructor, and course material commitments, a 15% cancellation fee for cancellations within seven (7) days of the start date will be charged.
Next local certification testing is scheduled for March 3rd - 19th, 2017.
NOTE: RI ASQ reserves the right to cancel this course if a minimum of 5 participants is not met. If applicable, all registrants will be notified by email within 72 hours of the scheduled beginning of this course.
This course is taught by Albert Scorza.
Work Experience – Bose Corporation 36 years in various Quality Functions including Quality Supervisor, TS16949 Program Manager, Quality Engineer and Sr. Quality Engineer. Fabrico and Delta Rubber – 7 years Quality Engineer/Manager.
Currently a Quality Manager at Hutchinson, Danielson CT.
ASQ Certifications – Manager of Quality, Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt, Quality Improvement Associate
Certification – AIAG Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949 Supplier Auditor.
ASQ Worcester, Massachusetts Section 0110 – Leadership Committee since 1996. Chair of the section two times 2015 and 2002, Education and Certification Chair for 17 years and currently hold that position, Recertification Chair 3 years.
ASQ Prep Class Teaching Experience Worcester Section – Manager of Quality since 2003, Certified Quality Auditor since 2006, Certified Quality Technician 7 years.
Currently teaching Manager of Quality and Quality Auditor for the Worcester Section.
Education – Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Management at Bryant University, Smithfield, Rhode Island
