Description

Western Cider is hosting Jennie Dorsey, cider maker & tasting room manager of Schilling Cider House, to lead Missoula cider enthusiasts in a Level 1 Cider Certification Professional training. Jennie is a certified USACM CCP Working Group member and instructor.

This 3 hour class will cover all aspects of the CCP exam. It is the cider certification for bartenders, servers, managers and beverage industry professionals to further their understanding of cider. The class will cover six cider categories: (1) Apples, the Orchard & History (2) Cider Making (3) Flavor & Evaluation (4) Cider Styles (5) Keeping & Serving Cider (6) Food & Cider. Cost of the class is $20.

After this, training attendees will need to go to the United States Association of Cider Makers website, www.ciderassociation.org/certification, to take the exam and receive the CCP certification. The exam is 60 questions long and costs $75 for non-members. You must score 85% to pass--you get two attempts per exam fee in a 30-day period.

The CCP Certification is designed for beverage industry professionals who want to gain further knowledge about all aspects of cider, cider making and serving cider.
