Join the City of Austin's Small & Minority Business Resources Department as we provide an overview of the various types of Certifications offered to qualified small businesses who wish to participate or compete for local government contracts.

The City of Austin offers:

  • Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE) for City funded contracts
  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) for federally funded Aviation, Transportation, and Highway projects
  • Airport Consession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) for Airport Concessionaires who provide services at the airport or to people at the airport
  • Small Business Enterprise - (SBE) our race neutral certification for single scoped construction jobs and we can also review for
  • Historically Undertutilized Business (HUB) certification when reviewing a MBE/WBE application. The State of Texas will review our recommendation and issue all HUB certificates.
