Explore the role of strategic marketing and communications in strengthening your nonprofit’s ability to engage employees, donors, clients, media, volunteers, policy-makers, and funders. Specific topics include: the building blocks of marketing, audience analysis and segmentation, differentiation and brand management, and integrated communication campaigns. You’ll learn to truly focus your promotional efforts and ensure your organization stands out in a cluttered marketplace. CEUs for Social Workers and CFREs are awarded for completion of this course.
Instructor: Angela Kay Larson -- Angela’s experience in business-to-business and consumer marketing spans several sectors and industries including high-tech, manufacturing, non-profit, arts and culture, healthcare, and agriculture. She is Director of Brand Marketing and Communications for the Farm, Ranch, and Agriculture Division of Blount International, where she is responsible for all aspects of brand management, advertising/promotion, research, digital marketing, eCommerce, and corporate communications. Previously she was co-owner of Act2 Strategists and facilitated planning activities with several organizations including ECOH, Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, YWCA, and Chicago-Rockford International Airport. Angela was awarded a certificate in consumer marketing from Kellogg’s Executive Management Program and earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Illinois State University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of German American as well as Village of Progress in Oregon, and is actively involved in AEM (Association of Equipment Manufacturers).
**This is the second of five courses in the Certificate in Nonprofit Management Program. Courses do not need to be taken in order. Upon successful completion of all five courses (90% overall attendance) participants will receive a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Rockford University.
