Overview
This is one of several 'CERT Refresher' classes offered to help you stay current with what you learned in your original training.
This is part of an ongoing series of CERT Refresher Trainings
Topics to include:
- Define terrorism: Understand the goals and tactics terrorists use, which often include creating mass casualties, disrupting critical resources and services, and causing fear.
- Recognize and report suspicious activity: Learn to identify the eight signs of terrorism and how to report such activity to the appropriate authorities.
- Explain the CERT role in a terrorist incident: Understand the appropriate and safe actions for CERT volunteers to take during and after a terrorist attack, focusing on personal safety and the limitations of their volunteer role. This includes knowing how to handle potential chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive (CBRNE) material exposure, such as performing basic decontamination.
- Prepare for a terrorist incident: Know the necessary steps to prepare for a terrorist incident at home, in the workplace, and in the community.
'Terrorism and CERT' will be held in English during a single ZOOM session.
