For 2017-18, Cerddorion continues our tradition of enriching New York’s musical scene with outstanding performances of adventurous programs, exploring great music new and old. We offer a season of three different concert cycles performed on three Friday evenings at St Pauls Church at 199 Carroll Street in Brooklyn and on three Sunday afternoons at St Ignatius of Antioch at 87th and West End in Manhattan.

Geniuses of the Reformation:

- Great music in the Lutheran tradition, inspired by the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 2017. Including works by Sweelinck, Goudimel, Schütz, Bach, Mendelssohn, Brahms and Josquin, a favorite of Martin Luther’s.

- November 17 in Brooklyn (St Paul's Church at 8 pm) and November 19 in Manhattan (St Ignatius of Antioch at 3 pm)

American Virtuosi: Copland and Bernstein

- Music by two twentieth-century giants who helped give American music its unique voice. Featuring Aaron Copland’s In the Beginning, and a dramatic presentation of Leonard Bernstein’s rarely performed choruses from The Lark, in celebration of the Bernstein centennial.

- March 9, 2018 in Brooklyn (St Paul's Church at 8 pm) and March 11, 2018 in Manhattan (St Ignatius of Antioch at 3 pm)

To Be Sung On The Water

- Water-themed masterworks spanning five centuries, including music by Palestrina, Barber, Heitzeg, R. Murray Schafer, and the winner(s) of Cerddorion’s sixth annual Emerging Composers Competition.

- June 1, 2018 in Brooklyn (St Paul's Church at 8 pm) and June 3, 2018 in Manhattan (St Ignatius of Antioch at 3 pm)
