Description

Want to spark your child's creativity, increase problem-solving skills, and promote brain growth? Then join the Central School Chess Club that is now being offered under instruction by International Master (IM) Faik Aleskerov.

He has taught chess for many years in schools, in chess camps, and as private lessons. He has won numerous international tournaments, including being a three time winner of the World Youth Championship.

The Central Chess Club will meet on Fridays from 3:10 to 4:10 in the school library. It is open to grades 1-5. Kindergartners will need special permission from the chess instructor. Class size is limited to 24 students with a minimum of 10 students necessary to conduct the class.

Class begins on September 8th and concludes on December 15th. NO CLASSES ON 11/10, 11/17, 11/24

The cost for this 12-week session is $192. Enrollments will be accepted in the order they are received. Scholarships may be available to low-income families upon request. Depending on the skill level of the student, there may be a low materials fee cost for instructional workbooks.

Dennis A Myers and Associates. Enrollment standing will be based on date postmarked. Include the name of the student, age, grade, parent's name, email address, and emergency contact phone number and contact's name. Student application will not be processed without complete information.

Students do not need to know how to play chess in order to enroll. Coach Faik can accommodate students with various skill levels. At the end of the session there will be class tournament with trophies and medals as prizes.

FAQs

Does my child need to bring a chess set?

No. Chess sets will be provided by the instructor.

My child is a 2nd grader who gets out of school before the 3:10 class start. Since he is not in the aftercare program at school, can he be supervised?

Yes. He needs to report to the Central School library as soon as he is dismissed. There will be an adult, either Coach Faik or another designated adult, to supervise him.

What's the refund policy?

If a student attends only one class, then there is a full tuition refund, minus the service fee charge.

If a child attends only two classes, then there is 50% refund, minus the service fee charge.

Students who attend more classes than two will not receive a tuition or pro-rated refund.
