This workshop is targeted for parents, teachers, administrators, social service, and anyone that has interaction with school age students

About this Event

Sponsored by the Berlin Upbeat Program and the Berlin Social Services, the Adult Workshop is targeted to provide members of the Central Connecticut community with information relevant to opioid and for people that interact closely with children.

Population that would benefit from this workshop: Teachers, School Counselors, School Administrators, Police Officers, Parents, Community Members, Social and Youth Service workers, and etc.

Friday - February 22, 2019

  • 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. – Registration in the hotel lobby. You will pick up your workshop packet at the registration table. If you are staying overnight you will check in at the front desk.
  • 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. – Dinner will be served
  • 7:00 - 7:30 p.m. – Introductions- Jack Rudy, Eileen Eustis, and Senior Coordinators
  • 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. – Discussion on the current substance abuse trends in our schools and community and new initiatives in outreach and treatment for addressing these concerns. The panelists include student resource officers, students, and treatment providers who will offer their perspectives and answer your questions regarding the entire spectrum of substance abuse; from drinking, vaping, and marijuana, through prescription drug abuse and opiates.
  • 8:30 - 9:00 p.m. - Lt. Gosslin Berlin PD - Naloxone (Narcan) Information
  • 9:00 - 9:30 p.m. - Lt. Gosslin Berlin PD - Optional Naloxone Training
  • 9:00 - 10:00 p.m. – Networking opportunity in hotel restaurant

Saturday - February 23, 2019

  • 7:00 - 8:15 a.m. – Breakfast will be served
