The Center fosters respect, independence, and personal growth for each individual. As a community resource, it provides access to supportive services and activities.

We are hosting a job fair to hire for the following positions immediately:

Housing/Energy Intake Specialist:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Full-time position responsible for providing housing and energy assistance intake, information, referral, and outreach. Provides individual and group counseling on energy and housing topics.

Progressive responsibilities will include budget counseling, benefits and entitlements, tenant counseling, outreach, housing consumer education, and default and delinquency/foreclosure diversion counseling. The incumbent will obtain certification in Foreclosure Intervention and Foreclosure Diversion Counseling.

Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related discipline required. Experience working with older adults and/or housing counseling agency experience preferred. Position will require home visits and access to a vehicle is preferred.



Part Time Nutrition Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
To manage, operate and supervise the Nutrition Program and Dining Room in accordance with all food safety and sanitation policies and procedures. The Nutrition Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and training of paid staff, volunteers, and Title V Program Trainees and ensures Center in the Park’s compliance with all established guidelines and regulations.
Among the duties of the position are to: Ensure that the dining room, kitchen, storage closets, refrigerators, freezer and equipment are satisfactorily cleaned and properly maintained; and, that participant attendance for the congregate meal program, nutrition presentations, breakfast and all other Nutrition Program-related activities is checked and accurately recorded in a timely fashion.

Knowledge/Experience Required
HS Diploma/equivalent required; Current ServSafe certification required; At least 2-5 years working in food service management preferred, with supervision experience; Experience working with older adults preferred; Driver’s License and Vehicle also preferred.




In-Home Support Program Case Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
CIP is seeking a candidate with a BSW or related degree to provide social services for homebound older adults in Northwest Philadelphia. The IHSP’s goal is to help older adults remain safely in their own homes. The position requires Case Managers to respond appropriately to crisis/emergency situations within program parameters; administer assessments to determine continued appropriateness of services and interventions; develop and implement service/ care plans; provide case management and resources to consumers as needed; maintain caseload statistics and accurate documentation pertaining to each case assigned. Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team.

Case Managers are required to conduct home visits, therefore access to car and valid insurance is necessary. Position is Full Time.


Social ServicesAdministrative Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:
CIP is seeking a qualified candidate to provide administrative support to social services departments and to ensure each program has the assistance needed to run successfully and in an organized manner. The Social Services Secretary will maintain and update multiple schedules for staff and departmental meetings; provide front desk receptionist duties; process consumer transportation requests and reports; create flyers and forms for IHSP; complete and maintain monthly statistic reports; maintain departmental spreadsheets; create informational packets; organize and maintain food pantry inventory; maintain consumer files; coordinate mailing; maintain office supplies; provide database management.

Knowledge/Experience Required
High School diploma; Two of more years of clerical experience preferred.





Part Time Nutrition Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide support to the daily operations of the nutrition programs provided by Center in the Park. The Nutrition Assistant supports and serves as a back-up to the Nutrition Coordinator and performs their duties in their absence, ensuring the proper operation and compliance of the congregate meal program and other nutrition programs as appropriate.

Knowledge/Experience Required
Current ServSafe Certification required; Prior experience in food service; Experience working with older adults preferred.



Housing Assistant Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, Senior Housing Counselor and Housing Counselor, the Housing Assistant is responsible for the following job duties.

Essential Functions:
Housing Intake:
1. Work closely with the Housing Counselor Intake Coordinator with daily tasks
2. Help clients apply for eligible benefits such as but not limited to Senior Tax Freeze, Senior Water Discount, Homestead Exemption, Rent Rebates.
3. Make referrals for client when necessary
4. Welcomes clients for counseling appointments and makes copies of required documents
5. Assist with setting up and closing files
6. Assist with filing documentation in appropriate client files
7. Assist with uploading and faxing documents for submission
8. Assist with data entry for RX Office, Counselor Max and Housing Counselor Online notes
9. Assist with gathering essential documents from homeowner via folder checklist
10. Contact client for missing documents
11. Contact client to schedule appointments
12. Contact clients for upcoming workshops
13. Help brainstorm and develop workshops

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Preferred senior level bachelor student pursuing degree in related human service field.
2. Computer proficiency with experience in Microsoft Office and Excel
3. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be organized and be able to work independently
4. Good time management, flexible, excellent customer service skills and upbeat attitude.



Exercise Specialist Internship
Length of Internship: Negotiable

Work with Center in the Park staff to promote and deliver quality physical fitness programs to older adults (55+). Design and conduct individual and group exercise activities and orientation to various exercise equipment. Participate in Center-wide activities to promote physical fitness and healthy aging. Facilitate the development of individual fitness goals, action plans and outcome measurements. Provide information and referral for nutrition, weight management and related physical fitness activities. Promote the concept of healthy aging and physical fitness. Assist older adults in developing new skills and provide opportunities for socialization and recreation with their peers while building strength, endurance and physical flexibility. Experience career launching opportunities in the field of aging. Work with agency preceptor and faculty member to develop project for the academic year.

Volunteer Receptionist

POSITION SUMMARY: The Volunteer Receptionist provides courteous greetings and communication to members, visitors and guests of Center in the Park both in person and over the telephone. The Receptionist fully comprehends and reflects, in a professional practice, the mission and philosophy of Center in the Park.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Become familiar with the Front Desk and Telephone Reception Procedures.
  • Become familiar with the names of each staff person and the services available within each department.
  • Provide clear, concise telephone communication to members, guests and visitors.
  • Provide appropriate and accurate general information to callers.
  • Answer telephone calls and direct callers to the appropriate staff person and/or department.
  • Monitor door entrances and use buzzing system to allow members, visitors and guest to gain entry into the building
  • Provide assistance to members signing in for classes using the Touch Screen.

SCHEDULE:

  • Commitment to at least four hours per week is ideal (8:30 am to 12:30 pm and or/ 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm) Hours are assigned by Social Services Supervisor according to need.
