Event description

Description

Irish-based historian, Gabriel Doherty, will mark the centennial of the death of Thomas Ashe with a lecture on the impact of Ashe's passing while on hunger strike in 1917. The Ashe lecture will be paired with a screening of Rebel Rossa which unpacks the legacy of the New York-based Fenian Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa through the eyes of his descendants. Screening and lecture will be followed by Q&A with director and producer, Williams Rossa Cole, and Gabriel Doherty. Presented in partnership with NYU's Center for Media, Culture and History.
