A Cello Madness Duel
Get ready for edge of your seat action and suspense as CelloJoe and Alex Kelly face off in a Cello Madness Duel!
CelloJoe is the world's first beatboxing long distance bicycle touring troubadour and harbinger of a new dimension in alternative cello paradigms. By combining cello with beatboxing, he has created a unique genre: Classical Hip Hop. CelloJoe records live on stage with a loop pedal and produces intricate tapestries of harmony, melody, and rhythm. His beatboxing (vocal percussion) and funky cello grooves form a rich soundscape for intelligent lyrics and his music spreads love, joy, laughter and conscious vibrations. CelloJoe can mimic many styles of music from dubstep to folk to rock to classical to hip hop. CelloJoe is the world's first long distance musical bike touring cellist. He has ridden his bike over 10,000 miles in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia.
Dr. Alex Kelly has a PhD in cello whoop ass. He's so badass, he's written a book on playing the cello. Based in San Francisco, this cellist, composer, electronic musician and conductor has composed for and performed with major symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras, new music ensembles, string quartets, cello quartets, big bands, jazz combos, rock bands, hip-hop crews, Klezmer/Balkan bands, theater companies, radio productions, ballet companies, modern dance companies, and circus troupes. He has also composed film scores and video game music.
