Event description

Description

It has been 23 years since the Jobs for Women campaign won its anti-discrimination case in the High Court. They won the right for women to work at the Port Kembla steelworks and other big male-dominated companies around the country.

To mark the occasion, we'll be celebrating with food and music. This is a chance to hear from the women involved in this little-known campaign that has been called "the most important piece of discrimination litigation that has occurred in this country."

This is an open event, everyone is welcome.

Thanks to a cultural grant form the Wollongong City Council, parts of this celebration will be filmed for the upcoming documentary about the Jobs for Women campaign. We are also going to film short re-enactments of the campaign over the same weekend.

We would love you to join us in this celebration and be involved!

This project was funded by a Cultural Grant from Community, Cultural & Economic Development, Wollongong City Council.
