Celebrating Youth Mental Health Advocacy!
Event Information
Description
This September marks Young Minds Advocacy Project's two-year anniversary! Please join us in celebrating another successful year of advocating for improved access to mental health services for California's young people!
Did You Know?
Mental illness is the number one health condition affecting young people in America, surpassing asthma and diabetes. Yet every year, only 20% of the millions of young people in need of mental healthcare receive services that could improve their lives. Without quality treatment, outcomes for youth with mental illness are poor; they fail in school, are removed from their homes and families, are confined in juvenile halls, and even become so hopeless they take their own lives. Poor and minority youth are especially at risk for adverse outcomes.
Mental health services should be easily accessible to youth and families who need them, irrespective of where they live or their socio-economic background. Over the past two years, Young Mind's has worked tirelessly to Raise the Standard for mental healthcare for young people and their families. Help us celebrate these accomplishments and support our continued advocacy efforts by joining us on September 19th!
This exciting event will take place at Cafe Zoe's brand new location in downtown Redwood City. There will be music, food, drinks, a silent auction, and a raffle. Supporting a great cause has never been so fun! RSVP today!
