About this event

An evening with the authors of three new books on Hebridean life. Derek Robertson's book Bho Bheul An Eòin/From The Bird's Mouth gives Gaelic names to new bird and animal species driven north by climate change.

Will Maclean's book, Compelled by Memory (co-written by Marian Leven and Arthur Watson) charts the historic battle for land on Lewis commemorated in the designers’ epic stone monuments.

Lesley Riddoch’s Riddoch on the Outer Hebrides updates her portrait of island life penned after cycling from Barra to the Butt 15 years ago and describes the challenges facing new community landowners.

The three writers (who happen to be neighbours) will give brief talks, chat together and sign books afterwards.
