Celebrating Human Rights Day 2016: Internet Freedom & Access As A Human Rig...
The increasing use of the internet by a majority of Zimbabwean citizens point to its growing significance as a tool for the advancement for democracy and human rights. As a medium, the internet has helped introduce new, more efficient and democratically progressive ways for citizens to express themselves, access information and be more innovative in various fields of human development and entrepreneurship.
It is therefore important that this increased democratic role of the internet should not be lost, especially where the internet is helping give citizens, inclusive of young Zimbabweans, a greater say in how they are governed and contributing to their creativity and innovation.
Against this background, Hivos Southern Africa in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands (EKN) is inviting you to participate in the Internet and Innovation Expo that we are hosting titled: Internet Freedom and Access As Human Right.
The Internet Expo will showcase innovation of internet based products and convened conversations on the power of the internet as a tool for innovation and development in Zimbabwe.
