Northeastern University is delighted to invite you to join us in Celebrating Community: An Evening of Gratitude on June 15, 2023, from 6:00-8:30 pm at Northeastern University's Alumni Center. The Alumni Center is located on the 6th floor of Columbus Place at 716 Columbus Ave Boston, MA 02120.

This special evening will be a time to come together to honor and celebrate the community around Northeastern's Boston campus. This event will include food, drinks, a short program for recognition, and time to gather/celebrate our broad network of community partners. We hope you will join us as we celebrate, recognize, and show gratitude to our neighbors for their work for our community.

As a part of our end-of-year celebration event, a collaboration across community engagement offices at the university created a Community Collaboration Award. This award seeks to recognize community-campus collaborations that represent the values and best practices of transformational partnerships. This year we will acknowledge and recognize a multi-fold collaboration that began between Angel Nieves (The College of Social Sciences and Humanities) and community-based artist: Dzidzor Azaglo. They partnered for a service-learning course: Documenting Fieldwork Narratives, in Spring 2022, which resulted in the recognition and archiving of Boston-based Black artists (see here). Since then, Dzidzor has been brought on to NU as a staff member for the Reckonings Project, and another cohort of students collaborated with community artists in Spring 2023.

We look forward to seeing you there and celebrating the accomplishments of our community partners with you!
