The Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services and the Virginia Department of Health would like to invite you to attend a symposium- “Celebrating of 50 Years of Newborn Screening in Virginia”. You will have an opportunity to directly interact with our target audience of pediatric doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals from across the Commonwealth.
We have an informative list of speakers starting with the keynote speaker; Dr. Barry Wolf Pediatrics Detroit MI. Dr. Wolf is the Chair, Dept of Medical Genetics, Henry Ford Hospital, in Detroit and the Professor, Molecular Medicine & Genetics, at Wayne State University School of Medicine.
This symposium will cover the evolving role of newborn screening as we go through the past, present and future of newborn screening as well as best practices and challenges from the time of collection through parent education. You will also get a look into our world and how we go through the process of receiving, testing and informing the pediatric community via the states newborn screenings successful disease prevention systems.
