Event description

Description

Celebrating youth of all ages with art, music, food, and entertainment. Join us for the first annual Fire Fighters Jambalaya Cook-off to finally settled the burning question of which firestation has the best cooks. The contest will be judged by local clebrity chefs including Chef Jay Ducote and Chef Celeste Gill as well as a People's Choice Award that will be determined by the votes of attendees. Join in the sock hop with music from the 50's to the present. The more seasoned youth will teach the less experienced youth how to do the dances from their decades and the younger generation will attempt to help teach jiggin' to the older generation of youngsters. Peruse the beautiful grounds and historic buildings that date back to the late 19th century and early 20th century viewing the art of local artists and youth. A silent auction will be held with unique pieces of art, one of a kind adventures, and local treasures. It's a night not to be missed. This event supports the positive personal growth and empowerment of the youth of East Baton Rouge Parish, and it's going to be loads of fun.
