Join Public Art Fund for hot beverages and sweet treats to celebrate Yinka Shonibare MBE and the unveiling of his new site specific installation, Wind Sculpture (SG) I. A new iteration of Shonibare’s majestic Wind Sculpture series, the work’s fluid form will reference both the untethered sail of a ship billowing in the wind and the vibrant patterns of textiles associated with the European colonization of West Africa. Shonibare, a self-described post-colonial hybrid, explores ideas of race, class, and the construction of cultural identity through his work.
