Celebrate Trails Day is Saturday April 22 this year. FreeWalkers is delighted o join Stephen Dunn, the Biking Fireman, at this impactful event to promote the development of the Rahway Valley Railroad (RVR). Last year, on short notice, about 40 people walked the intersection of the RVR and the ECG for a walk along the abandoned line. Tom Sexton, Regional Director of the National Rails to Trails Conservancy was in attendance. This year, Tom will be back and we should have a County Commissioner and other County administrators in attendance for the walk. News about local trail development may be offered.

We will walk north along the RVR, west along the ECG and east on the Boulevard to return to Cranford.

When complete, the RVR will connect from Summit all the way to Roselle Park, 7.3 miles of traffic free multi-use path. Let's turn out in force to push its development along!

Partners:

The East Coast Greenway Alliance is a non-profit organization developing a public multi-use 3,000 mile trail from Canada to Key West through New Jersey and New York. Donations and memberships help make this dream trail a reality.
