Event Details

What a year!  From last fall's election campaigns to this fall's Occupy Oakland demonstrations, planned school closings, and CEDA/Building Services investigations, Oakland Local's covered it all.

And you've been right there with us--posting on the Facebook page, re-tweeting, contributing stories, coming to events and workshops,  telling us what is really going on in your part of the Town and donating to fund stories on West Oakland's toxic legacy, the Occupy Oakland movement, and so much more.

Come through at our headquarters at co-working space Tech Liminal from 6-9 PM on Wednesday, December 7th, and enjoy some great food, great drinks, music, prizes, gifts and talk.

Here's the dish on what's going down:

Wine and Chocolate Tasting upstairs (special ticket):

We have 4 amazing local companies who will be upstairs all night offering samples of their amazing chocolates and wine--and selling and taking orders so you can purchase everything you like.  We're thrilled to have:

CocaDivaSF: Wine, port and chocolate pairings to die for. So good!

Reuschelle's Cheesecakes: Morsels of heaven, from right here in Oaktown.

Vice Chocolates: Hand-made artisan chocolate, truffles, bars made with Venezuelan chocolate. Addictive.

Urbano Cellars: A local winery that has won so many medals for delicious, well-priced wines. Great tasting experience!

Delicious eats from our community supporter, Whole Foods!  Yes, Whole Foods Oakland is furnishing treats for our party, so you know we're going to eat well.

Raffles & silent auctions: We have great items from OL advertisers and supporters including Yoshis, Golden Gate Organics, Phat Beets Produce, Reliatech, Donkey & Goat Winery and more (still updating).

Music: yep!, we'll have a DJ.

Please RSVP here and buy a ticket to help fund all the great food and drink we want to have for you. If you'd like to support our news gathering, buy a VP or Crown Prince ticket.

If you're a merchant and you'd like to sponsor this event, donate a prize or BARTER goodies for promotion on OL, get in touch! sales@oaklandlocal.com

Oakland Local

Oakland Local is the independent, non-profit news resource for what’s happening in education, city government, food, innovative tech, arts & culture, youth & more in Oakland.  We are journalists, educators, women, people of color and entrepreneurs funded by Google, the Fund for Ethics and Excellence in Journalism, the Fund for Investigative Journalism,  the Investigative News Network, the California Endowment Foundation, and many local small donors--like you.

We are the authentic voices of Oakland. Our contributors live across the city and range in age from 17-75. We publish diverse viewpoints from a wide range of people drawn together by their passion to reflect the real Oakland and tell the stories that should be told and are not. We publish community voices and professional reporters and we love youth and beginners as well as OGs and experienced folks.

We are pro-small and local business. We're all about shopping locally and helping merchants, artisans and small business people use our site and our classes and programs to connect to community who will buy from their and keep and bring money and jobs into the community. We celebrate Oakland innovators, workers, and business folks, because they are us.

Empower community voices with your support of our events, marketing and reporters.
