The Mountaineers Celebrates EVEREST 50

Saturday, April 20, 2013, 6 PM

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first American summit of Mt. Everest and join The Mountaineers as we honor a member of that historic 1963 American expedition - Jim Whittaker, legendary mountaineer and the first American to summit Mt. Everest. Mix, mingle, and be inspired by Whittaker, fellow '63 expedition teammate Tom Hornbein, and Everest climbers of today.

Support The Mountaineers programs and books that enable and inspire the community - especially the next generation - to get outside, connect with the natural world and be inspired to care for it.

Jim will also be available at the event to sign his updated Mountaineers Books autobiography A Life on the Edge.

Event Host Committee Co-Chairs:  Rich Draves, Martha Draves, and Doug Walker
