Event description

Description

Join two access to justice charities, the Bar Pro Bono Unit and LawWorks, for Christmas carols and readings on Monday 18th December 2017, at Temple Church. This beautiful and historic venue will provide a special backdrop for the evening held in the heart of legal London a week before Christmas.

The evening will include Temple Church Choir singing a selection from Britten's Ceremony of Carols, sing-along congregation carols and seasonal readings from celebrity guests to get you into the festive spirit!

We're delighted to be joined by Go People, regular performers at Home House, The Club at the Ivy and The House of St Barnabas, for a special festive performance. Sir Ernest Ryder, Senior President of Tribunals, will be attending to give a Christmas reading, and don't forget to keep an eye out at the event for our celebrity guests who will be helping us spread the festive cheer.

The concert will begin at 6.00pm, after doors open at 5.30pm. All are welcome from across the legal professions to this special night celebrating Christmas.

Book your tickets now to avoid disappointment!

Raffle Tickets:

After selecting your concert tickets, you will also be able to purchase tickets for the Christmas Raffle at £1 per ticket. There is no limit to the number you can buy. The Raffle will be drawn the day of the concert.

The Bar Pro Bono Unit is an access to justice charity founded by barristers which has been matching people in desperate need of legal help with volunteer barristers for 21 years. All proceeds from this concert will support the work of our central casework team helping to transform people's lives by finding expert legal assistance for those who need it and cannot afford to pay for it.

LawWorks is the leading pro bono charity for solicitors and is celebrating its 20 year anniversary this year. We aim to inspire and support lawyers and law students to engage in pro bono activity to help improve the lives of vulnerable people. The proceeds from this concert will help to fund the work of our LawWorks Clinics Programme which supports a growing network of independent legal clinics across England and Wales where those who cannot afford to pay for a lawyer and who no longer qualify for legal aid can obtain free advice.

Ticket bands and reserved seating:

By booking tickets you are reserving seats in a particular section of the Church at the concert. It is not possible to choose specific seats, and when the doors open you will be able to make your way to any seats within your chosen section.

  • Band A £45 - Your concert seats are in prime position. Finish your evening by joining us for sparkling wine and mince pies at our post-concert drinks in the very special atmosphere of the Temple Round, and mingle with our celebrity guests before heading off to that brief or your Christmas shopping!

  • Band B £25 - A seat that will allow you to see and hear all the delights the concert has to offer near the front of the aisles.

  • Band C £15 - A seat that has little or no view of the performance area. The acoustics of Temple Church allow you to immerse yourself fully in the festive concert, appreciate the musical performances and join in with the carols.

  • Band D £10 - Be seated along the stone benches down the sides of Temple Church, and enjoy the beautiful music and readings.
