About this event

The Arlington Council and Norman Studios is holding a joint-fundraiser movie screening on the grounds of the famous Norman Studios Silent Film Museum (currently being restored) in the heart of Arlington during the Celebrate Arlington weekend. There will be movie-themed eats, alcoholic drinks and vendors from the community. The Jaxson will tell us about Jacksonville’s history of being the Winter Film Capital of the World before the screening. Executive Director Rita Reagan will be offering tours of the property and a brief history of the studio before the screening of "The Flying Ace", one of the first race films that showcases African Americans in non-stereotypical roles.


5:00 - 7:00 PM - Check-in, networking, and tours of the property by Rita Reagan

7:00 - 7:15 PM - The Jaxson presents a brief film history in Jacksonville

7:15 -7:20 PM - City Councilmember Joyce Morgan introduction

7:15 - 7:30 PM - Rita Reagan presents Norman Studios' history

7:30 - 8:15 PM - "The Flying Ace" film screening outdoors (bring your own blankets/chairs)

8:15 - 9:00 PM Networking
