Event description


Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) is a joint government/industry initiative aimed at improving air traffic flow management through increased information exchange among aviation community stakeholders. The CDM General Session is an opportunity for CDM members to come together with FAA ATO Leadership to motivate an information exchange with regard to evolving technologies, operational processes and procedures as well as provide a platform for the CDM community to collaboratively discuss challenges facing the National Airspace System today. This year's General Session is hosted by Southwest Airlines and is being held in their Training and Operations (TOPS) building near Love Field. Due to space limitations, primary consideration for attendance to this event will be given to CDM members.

National Customer Forum and CDM Stakeholders Group Meetings

The National Customer Forum (NCF) will be held in the same location the following morning from 8:30AM to 12:00(L); CDM Stakeholders Group (CSG) will follow the NCF after a brief lunch break from 1:00PM to 4:00(L). Additional information regarding these two meetings will be sent separately to CSG members and the NCF community.

CDM Sub-teams

The sub-teams will be meeting that same week at the same location on Monday and Tuesday prior to the General Session on Wednesday. Due to room/seating limitations, these meetings are limited to the sub-team members only.

Parking Concerns

Due to construction in the parking lot at Southwest's Headquarters, parking for this event is extremely limited. Attendees are strongly encouraged to stay in hotels that will provide Shuttle service to SWA's HQ or utilize the DART (Dallas Area Regional Transit) to the Burbank station directly outside of the Ops Center.


There are no hotel rooms blocked for this event. The following hotels provide shuttle service to SWA's TOPS (Training and Operations) Building.

What is the dress code for this event?

Business Casual is the acceptabe attire.

Will lunch be served during the General Session?

Yes. Our Southwest Airlines hosts will be providing lunch.

Can CDM Members attend the National Customer Forum?

Yes. NCF is a monthly FAA/Industry Operational Information forum that is open to Flight Operators in the CDM community.

Can CDM Members attend the CDM Stakeholders Group?

No. This meeting is limited to the CSG and sub-team leads only.
