Program Participants

Dr. Laureen Zubiaurre Bitzer is Senior Associate Dean for Admissions and Career Planning, Director of the Advanced Standing Program, and Associate Professor of Dental Medicine at Columbia CDM. She also serves as an Instructor at Teachers College, where she received her MS and PhD in Science Education. Her scholarly interests include the use of reflection, predictors for success in dental school, and how the use of assessment systems can affect performance on high stakes exams.

Dr. Joseph McManus practiced pediatric dentistry for over 25 years and serves an Associate Professor of Dental Medicine, Director of Practice Management courses, and Executive Director of Community DentCare at Columbia CDM. He is a consultant for Henry Schein Professional Practice Transitions and lectures at national dental meetings and dental schools on the issue.

Dr. Daniel Bienstock MD '14, OMFS '17 is the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Dental365, a multi-specialty dental service organization with 21 locations across New York and Connecticut. He also serves as a Clinical Instructor of OMFS at Columbia CDM and is an attending oral and maxillofacial surgeon at NewYork Presbyterian/CUIMC.

Dr. Anne Chaly '05, Peds '08 is a partner at Rockland Pediatric Dental, one of the first pediatric dental offices in Rockland County, founded by Columbia graduate Ralph Berk '76, Peds '77 in the 1970's. It has since grown to become a state-of-the-art, multi-specialty office dedicated to treating orthodontic and adult patients, as well as pediatric patients and children with special needs.

Dr. Robert Emilio '94 has spent 20 years building a private, non-corporate general dentistry practice in Norwalk, CT. He built the practice from the ground up, and his practice now includes three additional dentists serving almost 12,000 patients. No one at his office "rents a chair" or is an independent contractor - everyone is a dedicated member of the team.

Dr. Jolanta Holzmann '89 will share the considerations that affected changes in her practice over a 30 year career in the profession. This includes her transition from private practice over the last three years in Maspeth, Queens, to a large group practice - ProHEALTH Dental in Lake Success - focused on integrating medicine and dentistry.

Dr. Gary Kaye '93 is the founder of a reconstructive, cosmetic, and implant dental practice helping patients attain long-term, stable oral health. He also founded and directs the New York Center for Digital Dentistry, which provides consulting on "fee for service" practices, as well as in-person and online digital dentistry learning programs. Dr. Kaye is the Chief Dental Technology Officer of North American Dental Group, a dental service organization with a desire to pioneer a new culture in dentistry by supporting and empowering dentists.

Dr. Gregg Lituchy '84 started his dental career with a special interest in porcelain veneers. His practice is best known for its "smile makeovers" where porcelain veneers transform the teeth to create "a perfectly imperfect smile." Every process is done with state-of the-art equipment in an office that's as much about creating a stress-free environment for patients as offering the most technologically advanced services, performed by the top experts in the field.

2 CE credits will be offered. Participation in this program may not apply towards license renewal in all states. It is the responsibility of each participant to verify the requirements of his/her licensing board(s) and to report credits to the appropriate authority. Please note that Practice Management courses are accepted for credit in CT and NJ, but not in NY.
