#CDFtoLDN Start-up Trip April 2016
Event Information
Description
This is the event page for the April trip, if you want to come along to future trips, you can find details here.
Focused on connecting the Welsh start-up community with opportunities and networks in London, join the monthly CDFtoLDN trade missions to broaden your networks and meet people who could help you keep moving you forward.
We'll get you there and back, and give you a space to work from all day. All we ask is that you're on time for the bus, and that you join us for a drink at the end of the day - the rest of the day is yours. This is all covered in the £35 ticket fee as a founder.
The trade missions are being delivered through the Business Wales Accelerated Growth Programme, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, in partnership with Welsh ICE, and Cardiff Start.
The event is open to founders, and employees of start-ups, students who have an interest in the world of start-ups, and angels, investors, and key influencers who can support the start-up community to grow.
It is an opportunity for you to connect with other members of the local start-up community, arrange appointments with contacts, and learn from the communities active in London.
An added perk for any start-ups joining the trip: you get 12 months' StartUp Classic membership to Enterprise Nation at no extra cost (worth £30). This offers a huge range of additional support for start-up businesses, which you can learn all about here.*
We will be setting off from Little Man Coffee on the corner of Bridge and David Street at 7am [prompt!], but they are kindly opening 30 minutes earlier for any caffeine fixes, so please aim to arrive at 6:30am.
This event will be based in Shoreditch at Huckletree, arrival will be from 11am and you will have the opportunity as your base of operations for the day until 4.30pm. It is perfectly placed a stone's throw from all of the buzz of Tech City. You're free to set your own agenda for the day or stay productive in the workspace.
At 5pm we will be heading over to a local bar for drinks, and to hear from a couple of great speakers on their experience in the world of social businesses. We will have the company of two key organisations: ClearlySo, and B Lab UK - who spread the word about B Corps. Simon Evill of ClearlySo and the team at B Lab UK are both passionate about the need to balance a social focus alongside commercial objectives and will share their knowledge and insights on why it isn't a choice between social or commercial anymore.
If you just need tickets for the evening event, you'll need to sign up here.
At 7:30pm we will be wrapping up and getting back on the road, with the goal of being back at Little Man for drop off at 10:30pm/11:00pm.
