Gain an increased understanding of the Therapeutic Relationship and its importance. Understand the basic counseling warning signs of transference and counter-transference. Identify other potential counseling boundary issues. Understand the progression of counseling for substance abuse clients. Learn and understand the spirit and concepts of Motivational Interviewing. Practice utilizing and applying basic engagement skills through role play.
