Description

Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for duration of 12 weeks.

PREREQUISITES: Valid high school diploma, GED or enrollment as a junior or senior in a high school career/technical program in early childhood education.

DESCRIPTION OF COURSE

Complete 120 hours of formal early childhood education training, covering the growth and development of children ages 0 to 36 months, for infant credential, or children ages 3 to 5 years old, for preschool credential, with no fewer than 10 training hours in each of the CDA subject areas.

PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO

You must complete a Professional Portfolio that reflects your personal professional development experience. Your portfolio will be a great resource as you grow throughout your career.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, students should be prepared for the CDA Credentialing Process

Effectively demonstrate knowledge of Competency Standards

  • Compose six written reflections on your own teaching practices for each of the six CDA Competency Standards

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Because this course requires a MINIMUM OF 120 clock hours, class participation and interpersonal interaction students MUST attend all classes for the full class time.

WITHDRAWAL FROM COURSE

If you decide to drop this course NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN FOR ANY REASON.
