Event description

Description

The number of peers in the behavioral health workforce are expanding rapidly across the country. Bringing their own lived experiences of recovery from mental health and/or substance use conditions, they promote mind-body recovery and resiliency for the people they support. CCSME’s Annual meeting explores the many facets of this shift and the roles peers hold in the workforce, as well as the opportunities and challenges they face both in Maine and nationally.

The morning keynote speakers and panel will highlight Maine’s achievements. Beverly Haberle, Executive Director/The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania, and Director/PRO-ACT, which are two peer driven organizations showcased on the HBO documentary “Addiction", will reflect on national trends. The afternoon, open to CCSME members only, affords opportunities to deeper explore and envision ways to expand the peer workforce capacity in Maine to build an integrated approach.

We invite you to be part of this critical and important discussion, as well as to become a member of CCSME.

  • Raise awareness of the shift toward a peer workforce in Maine and across the country

  • Educate on the breadth of the peer recovery in Maine

  • Support the advancement of the peer workforce in Maine
